The topic for the March meeting will be buying through Probate. Andy Rutter will walk us through the process of finding and buying property through probate. This will be a great way to learn from someone who actually does it for a living.
Andy was a Manager and District Manager for ITT Financial then CitiFinancial and was laid off in April 2008. In May 2008 he joined a start-up internet marketing company, targeting auto dealers. As it became apparent that wasn't going to be a successful venture, he went full-time into Real Estate investing October 2008 and joined REIN in November of 2008.
Andy said “there have been stressful times, financially, especially since neither of us had a job when we made the choice to make a career of Real Estate Investing. I put in a ridiculous amount of time at this point, but I still have the flexibility to be there for Karen and our son. I coach his baseball and basketball teams and set aside time each day to spend with the family. That flexibility is the best part. And I absolutely LOVE what I'm doing”.
Andy attributes a lot of his success from being involved in REIN, taking the classes offered and networking with other Real Estate investors. Andy is the sub Group Coordinator for the Columbia group.
This is another great example of REIN members sharing with other members. GET INVOLVED IN REIN.
Myth of the month- Laundry bleach is the best product to remove mold and keep it from returning.
“EPA researchers compared 12 over the counter cleaning products with diluted household bleach. They used each product to clean the mold on individual samples of painted and bare gypsum drywall. Then they stored the samples under ideal mold growing conditions and monitored them to see how much mold returned. Diluted bleached scored the worst on unpainted drywall. It fared better on painted drywall, but not as well as the leading cleaning product, full strength Lysol All purpose cleaner Orange Breeze”.
Meets every Third Monday of the Month. No registration required, open to members and guests are allowed one time only. |
